Trust issues

It was way back in the early 2000’s.It was mid noon when my relative heard the news of his father’s demise. Taken by surprise, he left everything as it is at work and rushed back home. As he saw his sister and brother by his father’s side, the guy collapsed on his knees and started crying incessantly. How could any of this be true? How could this happen to him? How could destiny be so cruel? How could his brother and sister reach before him and siphon off all the cash that the old man carried with him? Just, how …?

There were so many questions but our guy had no answers to any of the questions. Now, he knew very well that both of them would deny that the old man carried any money. And yes, he would have done the same to them, had he reached earlier. But only if fate were on his side, things would have been different. There were a lot of ifs and buts’ that day. He knew that behind the plastic long face, his siblings were happy deep down and smiling from eye to eye. Unable to question them openly in front of the other relatives, he
could not control his anguish anymore; he started crying more intensely with every passing moment. If only God were a little kinder, He would have got his rightful share of wealth (inheritance), which the old man had earned through all the wrongful means. That was the day when our man lost all trust in God. He was often heard asking if God were for real. Honestly, he is yet to get a satisfactory answer.
