Advantages of mobile culture.

Mobile culture similarly to technology has developed rapidly and has greatly improved our day to day life. The technology which is part of mobile culture has greatly made things faster and more efficient for us especially communication, sharing of messages, information, photos, streaming videos and music. All this has become for granted taken process in our day-to-day life.

For example, let’s take music, before you either had to download the songs one by one or stream them using Wi-Fi. Nowadays most people just use Spotify, pay a monthly subscription and stream music whenever and wherever even little things like this show that this sort of mobile culture advancement in technology has really made life easier. How easy has it become to just share an image with your friends (just open your phone camera , take the photo and start sharing via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter Facebook, Snapchat etc.) everything has become so instant that even if this process takes a second longer than intended the reaction the majority of the people give instead of waiting for a couple of seconds is why is this happening? This shouldn’t take this long. However, we just live in such a fast-paced world where everyone’s life is so hectic, and I think we depend greatly on technology and this mobile culture that’s rising and will keep growing over time to make our day-to-day lives easier.

A major part of the mobile culture is the Google phenomenon. Everyone for every little thing just uses google hence the phrase “just google it”. The second you are with a group of people and somebody does not know something the very popular phrase “just google it” pops up. Personally, I use Google a lot especially, Google Now (The equivalent of Siri on Android Phones) I normally have my phone next to me and let’s say I remember of something I have to do I simply say “OK Google” — “Set reminder for handing in assignment” for example and set everything via the phone without even touching it, the same technology has been implemented in a wider spectrum by google home where the google now features are built into the house, every room having a speaker, making the transition from traditional to digital.

A major advantage adding upon what has already been previously discussed is that technology plays a major part in what we do every day, is the organizational benefit this mobile culture brings. Speaking from personal experience and what I use every day I use google calendar and Google keep from day to day to organize and plan what I have to do, there was a time where I used to manage without these digital tools, however the second these stop working I start to panic as I have grown so dependent on these tools. This is another case where we have become so dependent on technology for our everyday basic needs even setting reminders us off tasks etc.

To conclude this blog, I think as with everything technology in the mobile culture which been increasing in popularity within the last decade and brings a lot of advantages to the table alongside to some disadvantages which will be discussed in the next blog post however I think one must appreciate that even though these things that were mentioned may be overused however that’s what they were designed for unless they become addicting, because if used properly they truly simplify our day to day routines.
