Verdant is the Garden

A Ghazal

The sun beams down love upon the verdant garden,
Flowers mixed with food plants, not a routine garden.

Fragrant herbs stand by calendula and borage,
With zucchini, tomatoes and green bean garden.

Deep raised beds compost-rich the black gold so fertile,
Spiders web and bees buzz in the wax bean garden.

Mister's mist birds scratch and the butterflies flutter,
Cucumbers climb thyme spreads in the pea green garden.

Three sisters, corn, squash and beans, settle together,
Beans climb corn, squash shades roots — what a serene garden.
